Lasden, Nov, & In fine weather but with a strong breeze. Sir L Amery, Mr. Massey, Mr. Bruce, Mr. Mackenzie King and three hundred dis- tinguished guests inspected, of Spithead, the Atlantic Fleet. Seventy ships, all built since 1914, assembled in Ave lines, totalling fifteen alles. The Premiers and others, aboard the minelayer Princess Margaret, steamed through the lines, while the vessels were manned and their bands played. Vize-Admiral Sinolair's flagship, the Queen Elizabeth, fred a salute as the Dominion visitors passed. Premiers were particularly interested in the latest battle-cruisers Hood and Repulse, which are going on an Empire cruise; also the Argus, carrying thirty aeroplanes.

MR. LLOYD GEORGE LEAVES AMERICA.
New York, Nov. 3.
The Opera House was packed and a thousand were unable to gain admission on the occasion of the farewell speech of Mr. Lloyd George, who received an ovation. The British ex-Premier said the Versailles Treaty was not responsible for the present peril of Europe. Every treaty depended upon the manner of its application. He reliorated his support of Mr. Hughes' proposal and declared: "The world will be better to-morrow when it knows the interest of America in human rights is unweakened."
Mr. Lloyd George goes home to-day.
The Chief of Police states that the arrangements to safeguard. the ex-Premier at the Opera House were as complete as though he had been the President of the United States himself. Five hundred police were required to keep order outside the Opera House.
Mr. Lloyd George's farewell speech is featured in all the morning - papers and adorned with flaming headlines.
The Tribune, in a leading article, declares Mr. Lloyd George's pleading for friendship" and accord between England and America strike a mote that will be heard sympathetically throughout the nation.

Mr. Neville Chamberlain, speaking at Cardiff. referred to the Government's proposal for a general tariff on manufactured goods. and said an advisory committee would be appointed immediately to intervies the representatives of different industries, and only after collecting all information would the Government be able to frame a general tarif. He intimated that such proposals would be sub- mitted for the decision of the country before next winter.
