Herr Hilferding, Minister of Finance, addressing the Budget Committee of the Reichstag. described the financial and political situation in Gerniany as almost desperate. The Imperial Govern- ment had to cover not merely its own defait, but those of all the Federal States and Communes, otherwise the whole administration of the country would break down. He criticised the attempt of the Reichsbank to support the mark with insuficient means and plained that private firms had been unauthorisedly issuing emer- gency money although many billions were already circulating. Referring to the causes of the deficit he asserted that payments in execution of the Peace Treaty had risen from four hundred and "fifty milliards in January to four billions in July. The deficit on the State Railways alone. amounted to 450 billions. He concluded that it was impossible to hepe for the great increase of taxation to res sult in balancing the Budget.

Thousands of dollars worth of Furs, draperies, carpets, food etc., are destroyed annually by moths. The eggs are deposited directly on materials or in the corners of closets and trunks. Two breeds occur during the year'. Eggs are deposited in May and August, and are hatched about one month later. By using FLYOSAN It is no longer necessary to pack garments, etc. away in expensive cedar chests, to place valuable furs in storage plints, or to pack various articles in boxes or trunks with offensive mothballs.
Clean the closets thoroughly by washing with soap and water and allow to dry and after a thorough brushi: g hang clothes inside, then spray FLOYSAN freely at top and botton and close the door quickly. Repeat the spraying twice monthly, or more often if moths are detected, aud these destructive pests will be controlled.
