The prospects of success of the Hongkong. Section may be regarded as in large measure assured. With premises supplied without charge, either for land, construe. tion or rent: $150,000 contributed towards the cost of freight, wages, etc.; with the right to sell articles on éxhibition, a great many of which will doubtless command a ready market, it is to be assumed that some exhibitors will make Hurge profits. Obviously, a fair and proper distribution of public funds is nee cessary; furthermore, accounts Imust be kept to enable the Hong- kong Government to claim its due. share of the profits of the Exhibi- tion as a whole.

So frail is the human body that immunity from disease can never
be completely assured, and whilst this world of ours
peopled, disease will always be with us. It must be acknowledged, however, that much greater precaution might be, and should be, exercised to ward off atmospheric infection.
The main trouble lies in the fact that the general public has, even now, very little real knowledge of the subject of infection, and in consequence little or no effort is made, whether individually or as a community, to combat airborn disease. The result is seen in the many epidemics which run their course throughout the country,
Every household and every public building in which people gather together should carry efficient means to render the immediate atmosphere healthy and fresa and, as far as possible, pure. The readiest method is by spraying at frequent intervals, à disinfectant fluid in the form of highly atomised vapour. This vapour should not, however, prove in any way irritating or unpleasant in use.
