At Greenwich Police Const recantly the Magistrate (Mr. Dianey) referred to the recent Farder made by the Commissioner of Police as to the facilities for
Press representatives to inspect charge-sheets at the Courts. He said the charge- sheets were entirely under the control of the Magistrate, and the police authority bad no. right whatever to interfere in any way with the disposal or use tó which the Court might puł them. Neither the Press representatives" nor any one other than the officials of the Court had any right of access to those sheets.
With regard to the rights of the Press, they had no right to publish anything except what was given rica rece in opan Court, neither name, nor ad dress, nor anything else, and they did any thing else at their peril, for if it were libellous they had to suffer for tit.
He had the greatest con- Bdence in the loyalty and discre- tion of the Press representatives who practised at that Court, and was quite sure they would not ahuse the privileges which had been given to them. Sometimes It was objectionable to publish an address or name, especially where very young persons were charged, as they might be prevented from getting employment, al-

BIRDS OF PARADISE.
As in previous yeare, tuntiag crown pigeons and rare species of birds of paradise in New Guinea į has again been forbidden, whilst the Resident has now been re- quested not to issue any licences to hunt the yellow bird of para- dise on the islands off the coast of New Guinea without the special sanction of the Government.

Heir to his Lalf-brother, the second Baron Trevor, the Hon. George Edwyn Hill-Trevor, who died at Bognor, aged 62, left un- settled property valued at only £10.
