A
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, which every year does so much to raise funds in the name of charity, held their third annual streetssle of roses this morning. The sale was organised by Mrs. H. W. Bird. Upto mid-day rose girls with their baskets of paper flowers were to be seen all over the town, and they did their work thoroughly, for one did not see many people not wearing the Altogether ROME buttonhole. hundred ladies were engaged in salling, and their efforts must have raised quite as appreciable sum in aid of charity.
We learn that at least $3000 has been raised as a result of the drive, bet that the final accounts are likely to show considerably more than this sum..
