Seattle, July 21-Seattle and Puget Sound parts are rapidly approaching their tormer com. mercial position when the Wash- ington Customs district, during the war, was second only to Now York in foreiga commerce. Seattle's commerce for the cs- endar year of 1922 will be over the balf billion dollar mark. Seattle's import and export trade in June amounted to $37,500,000 or $6,000,000 more than June, 1921. The tonnage was 542.00 tons as against, 343,480 tons ia June a year ago. Exports to the Onent during the fires six months of 1972 were equal to those of the previous year while imports from the Onent registered a gain of 35 per cent. For the first six months of
1922 Seattle's import and export trade amounted to $210.- 600,000 as compared with $115.- 600,000 for the same period of 1921,
