"PYGMALION.”

Big Success by Warwick Company.

Barnard Shaw's famous "four- act comedy, "Pygmalion," WAS staged by the Warwick Comedy Company in the presence of a crowded house at the Theatre Royal on Saturday night. And very finely was it played, too. In fact, we do not think the Com- pany has ever scored a greater success. Abounding in subtleties And saturated with cynicism, the dialogue was altogether diverting. and no greater compliment can be paid to the Company than to say that each and every member of the cast showed a full sppreci ation of the uncommon outlook of the playwright

Miss Gertrude Godart Was simply immense as Eliza, whilst, Mr. Dudley Howarth took the part of Henry Higgins with marked vigour and ability. Other outstanding characters were Mr. Warwick himself AJ Eliza's father really splendid study of the part); Miss Eileen Dawn as Higgins housekeeper; Mis Lena Flowerdow as Mrs. Hig gins and Mr. Charles Bradley as Colonel Pickering. Higgins' aidor and sbettor in the experi ment. The minor parts were also well taken, and the production was such to as give all present unqualified delight.

A REMARKABLE PLAY.. Miss Clemence Dane's very human play, "A Bill of Divorce- men:" which has been running for so long at the St. Martin's Theatre, is to be presented by the Warwick Comedy Company to night at the Theatre Royal.

Playgoers will recollect that it was presented here during the previous visis of the company. On that occasion it met with such a fine reception that Mr. Warwick has decided to include, it in the repertoire for this season on account of the numerous requests he bas received for & repetition. The play is undoubted- ly a very unusual one. It gives magnificent scope for Sne acling, notably on the part of Mr. N. Thorpe-Marne is Hilary Fair- field" and Miss Marjory Clark as "Sydney Fairfield." The former is said by many to be Mr.Thorpe- Mayne's best characterisation.
