In the place of these ne passen- ger steamers, the Wesmalia, 2,854 tons, built 24 years ago, is to maintain B ten-day service between Hobart and Sydney.
ARMSTRONG'S RECORD. With the launching of the Cunard liner Ansonia Messrs. Arinstrong. PROGRESS OF GERMAN SHIPBUILDING.
It is by no means imposible that 1921 will prove a record year for Germany's merchant ship building. The Deutsche Allgemeine Zeitung publishes a list of sea- going vessels which have already, been launched from her yards since January 1, and it makes no pretence Το be exbaustivé. Figures are given for the capacity of fifty-seven of these vessels, and total up to 284,000 tons. In 1913, which was Germany's past bost shipbuilding year, she completed 379,000 tons. At the close of that year she had 834,000 tons under construction, but, of course, the war prevented the completion of much of this. Of the vessels in.
