FRENCH STATE SHIPPING. The Chamber of Deputies last manth discussed the scheme of the liquidation of State vessels created during the war. They number 300 ships of an aggregate tonnage of 1,000,000 tons, and are valued at 1,500 million francs. The reporter of the Merchant Navy Committee said during the War the Food Supply Department had 500 ships at its disposal, and, thanks to a contrast with the Hadson Bay Company. was able to realise an economy of 114 million francs.
