Police Court Sequel.
As a sequel to the affair which took place on board the Ja Tjikembang whilst on her way from Java to Hongkong and which we reported yesterday, tea Chinese were brought before Mr. R. F. Lindsell at the Magistracy yesterday afternoon on PITTR- dition warrants; the charge being that they conspired to revolt against the authority of the Cantain of the ship.
The Magistrate asked Mr. T. H. King. Captain Superintendant of Police, it it was true that the ex- tradition requisition could not possibly arrive before Saturday. He could remand defendants to Saturday.
Mr King: If circumstances jarise in the meantime, which make it possible to bring de fendants before the Court, will your Worship allow me to see you beforehand? I don't think the document can arrive before that date.
Mr. M. K. Lo, who defended five of the defendants: I ask for bail.
Mr. King: 1 ask your Worship to postpone the question of bail until Friday morning because 1 want to get advice on the matter.}
Mr. Lindsell asked if defendants were alleged to have resorted to violence.
Mr. King: There is an allega. tion of a threat of violence. They jswarmed on the deck of the ship
without permission.
