Mrs. Warren Delano Robbins, wife of the state depart- ment official who has charge of Eastern affairs, was in charge of costumes for the big Chinese ball in Washington, on 5th April. Washington society made this the first post- Lenten event. Everybody who attended was in Chinese costume. The refreshments consisted of Chinese food and the proceeds will go to the Chinese famine fund.
Princess Margaret of Dan- mark, (shown above) has been reported engaged to the Prince of Wales many times. Apparently the reports were *exaggerated," as announce- mant bas just been made of her engagement to wed Prince Rene of Bourbon (below).
