THE NEW DOGE AT CALOUTTA.

The new King George's Dock at Calcutta, of which the Duke of Connaught recently laid the commemoration stone, will be situated on the Garden Reach, about five miles down the river from the Howrah Bridge. The water area will be about 190 acres, and the length of the quay wall 25,000-ft. The approved scheme, which is expected to meet all demands for many years to come, is for new docke to the south-west of those. already existing and a reorgani- zation of the railway facilities to them.
