of this important branch of their trade, they will, of course, work in co-operation with the PLA., although they will be masters of their own shipping interests in the port. The pur- chase by Messrs. Furness, Withy and Co., Ltd., consists of the large Thames riverside property known as Bellamy's Wharf and Dock, Ltd, Rotherhithe. There are four berths, one with a length of 560ft, where vessels up to 10,000 tons can be dealt with; and the land accommodation in-1 cludes 90 warehouse floors. This new acquisition will facilitate the work of merchants and shippere associated with the services con- cerned, because the wharf is near to the berths of the Furness Line in the Surrey Commercial and Millwall Docks, and forms an excellent centre for the dis- tribution of goods, by barges or motor vehicles.
