PRESENTED TO MEN OF

THE WILTSHIRES

H.E. Major General Ventris,, the G.O.C., at the annual general inspection of the 2nd Battalion of the Duke of Edinburgh's (Wiltshire) Regiment this morn- ing presented a number of war medals to the members of the Regiment.

After the inspection the follow- ing were called up and given their decorations:-

MILITARY MEDALS.

This N.C.O did valuable work in maintaining connections between the Battalion Headquarters and the Company, and also the Brigade Headquarters."

Private C. Roster, C. Co,-This private was employed as runner at Battalion Headquaṛ- ters. He carried messages during the German offensive near Chumsy, during the períod between May 20th and June 6, 1918. He did excellent work in carrying messages under heavy machine-gun and rifle fire between Brigade Headquarters and the front line.
