Philippine registry, something quite distinct from American registry, and those vessels falling Into the latter class are not, under our laws as they stand" to-day, admitted to interisland trade. So far as anch trade is concerned, it would appear, they are regarded casentially Tassels of foreign registry. Amerdment of existing law so as to meet the desires of the Fed- eral Shipping Board is something which les entirely within the province of the Philippine Legislature, it was stated and it is for this reason, that the present request has been directed to that body. It is understood that it has not as yet been formally transmitted to the Legislature, but will be within a day or two, and it is expected in official circles that the Legislature will act favourably upon it with stout delay.
