The Teikoku Kisen Kaisha bas decided to inaugurate an Osaka- Dairen line, the first steamer Zuiyo Maru leaving Osaka shortly. It is expected that a rate war will ensue between the 0.S.K, and the Teikoku K.K.

Rationing Merchant Ships.

The Committee of the French" Mercantile Marine has decided to approve the requisitioning of merchant vessels, at the same time announcing that French vessels under this new regulation would only be requisitioned after such requisitioning has been approved by the Committee authorized" to sanction the purchase of these ships.

Small Steamer Losses, Marine insurance circles in Japan are reported to be seriously concerned over the number of casualties attending vessels being " turned out in the smaller yards, of about 1,000 tons, a number of particularly the wooden steamers
