Two, men named Joseph Mo Laughton and James Waddal,” who had signed articles for a round voyage on a White Star liner from Liverpool to US:AN were charged under the Merobant Skipping Act with deserting from. the vessel at Fhiladelphia: Mr. Russell Roberts (Messrs, Hill, Dickinson and Co.), who pro- secuted on behalf of the White Star Company, stated that the desertion complained of took place on the 9th July. The two men signed to sail from and return to Liverpool at the month.
