ROBINSON'S

Warning to Nagasaki Residents. The woeak thief, one orį murs ia active in Nagisaki jast now and several foreigners livingcon Naminobirs and Minamiyamabe have suffered af iste from his depredations. In one case we have heard of silver being stolen, but special attention appeara to have been given to metal piping and beeting, window glasr, and house fittings generally, Basin.co houses in the settlement have’also been pillaged and it is quite probable that the full extent of the losses will only be discovered after a thorough investigation of out houses and similar buildings. We have headed this: "Warning 10 Besidents," says the Nagasaki Press, but we trust that the polion authorities will alto take note bf the matter and endeavour to pat an end to the nuisance. It has been suggested to as that'snin- adequate police patrol is partly responsible for the immunity hitberto enjoyed by the thief or thieves."

Great War Library.

A grest war library is to be an important part of the National War Museum which the Govern- ment are creating. 'In making' this announcement at luncheon given in the Carpentera Hallby the Library Committee of the [City of London, Sir Alfred Mond aid it was astonishing how the literature of the war had grown. A library of 30,000 or 40,000 volumen would scarcely cover that which already. Gaziste. The services of Prof. Oman, of Oxford, have been enlisted as chairmen of the War Library Committen. In asking the support of the City Corporation for the war museum, Sir Alfred suid they would wquire a building, worthy of such a collearion. It would not be merely a muecam, but's great living piece of English History, Bir Alfred also spoke of a great roll of boncur of all the men who "have made, the great sacrifioS fading & place within its walls, ard suggested that a site mnat be found for it in note #eshilÿí áo, demible ovntrak posti.
