St. Louis, September 6-Mr. Richard C. Kerens, who was U.§. ambassador extraordinary – and minister plenipotentiary to Aus tria-Hungary from 1901 to 1913, died at his home in this city last evening. Mr. Kerens was born Kilkenny.county, Ireland,

South Sea Islanders Visit Kioto.
The party of South Ben Island ers arrived at Kioto yesterday morning saya the Kobe Herald of August 30. They visited the Honganji, the Zoological Garden and various other noted places in? the old capital. They were to vitit Qeaks to-day. Japanese Prisoners in Vleans.
A correspondent writing from Budapest on a recent visit to Vienne, speaks of life there and the miseries that are daily, grow- ing. He says the war does not interest the Viennese as it does people in Bajapeat. "I saw fifty Japanese prisoners, including some officers, who were dressed “ in the uniform of the 3rd Russian Imperial Artillery Re giment, and who had been capa- tared on the Russian front, escorted from the station at which I arrived to the southern station; but they attracted no attention at all, although the spectacle of the little men in the well-known Russian apiforms was notable, The Viennese cared nothing for them; and nothing for the grest E issue. Steam Trawler Missing. Anxiety in felt as to the fate of the trawler Daini Shimonoseki- Maru (207 tone), as nothing has been heard of her for several days.
