SUEZ CANAL REPORTS.
-DUTCH LINERS NOT TO USE WATERWAY:
December 15, 6,55 2.12.
A telegram from Rotterdam tates that the Dutch East Indis liners have been ordered not to use the Saxx Canal at present, but to follow the Cape roots. There will thus be a ten days' service instead of a weekly one.
The manager of the Rotterdamsche Lloyd, interviewed, said the decision was due so the uncertainty of obtaining costs at the coaling stations, and that there was no political resson for the change.
Speculation in Holland on the subject has been increased by the publication of a German telegram, purporting to emanate from Cairo, that the British are strongly fortifying the Suez Canal and that troops are daily being landed at Alexandris, where it is estimated
thers are 240,000 already.
General von Hackensen is mentioned as likely to command the expedition against Egypt.
