The traveller has, in fact, a choice of routes. Ha can go direct by a steamer of the China Merchants Company or by the way of Hai- men on board at "inland" waters steamer. By the latter route his voyage will cost him leas, but should he wish to go to Shangbai. he must change into another ves- vel at Ningpo
The Cholburi.
The Chotburi, which was borat outside the bar, saya tl Bangkok Times of November 12 had on board two thousand gullons of kerosine. One half came from the Asiatic Petroleum Co. Ltd,. and the other from the Standard Oil Co., and was destined for Bangplasoi. The fire was first observed about midnight and did not subside till seven

Lady Mahital is of the opinion that the fire was the work of an incendiary, and it is claimed that the criminal was in the emplag of competitors on this run. The junk anchorage breakwater, which lies of the old Russian ad- ministrative quarter, is to have a total length of 3,100 ft. Of this. 1,700 ft. wore built as early na May in the year, bat it is uncer- tain whon work on tho balance will be taken in hand. A tem- porary ship anchorage breakwater of a length of 1,000 ft. was also constructed during the year, while the work on the west portion of the west breakwater, representing 1,968 ft., was completed. The length of the new wharf was of -iginally fixed at 1,000 ft. This has now been altered to 2,000 ft. Its breadth will be 400 ft, and ite height above the level of the highest spring tides 2 ft. 5 in.; 8.25 per cent. of the work was completed in 1914; 87 per cent. remains unfinished. The total length of wharf frontage which can at the present moment be made me of is 7,900 ft., affording | accommodation for the following. ships:―
