New Oriental Service.
The American Hawaiian Steam- ship Company is reported to havs announced the opening of an Oriental service. The company has twenty-six vessels of over 4,000 tons, with an aggregata tonnage of 177,000.
Bangkok Shipping.
The total number and tonnage of steamers arriving at Bangkok during September was seventy- four ships of 62,931, exclusive of vessels under the Siamese flug. Of these thirty-seven of 29,129 tona were Norwegian and twenty of 19,100 tons British.
Japanese Shipbuilding.
The number of vessela which have been contracted to be built at various Japanese shipbuilding yards bas rapidly increased of late and is now put at sixty-five with aggregate gross tonnage of 289,450, including two cargo- boats of 7,500 tona clasa recently ordered from the Mitsubishi Ship- building Yard, Nagasaki, to the orders of a trampship owner. Steamers Change Hands. The steamara Mausuri and Talamis belonging to the Bombay Persian Steam Navigation Com. раву,
and the steamer Badrie be longing to the Arab Steamer Com- pany, have changed hands. The two. former have been sold to buyers in England, while the "Islamia' has been purchased by Messrs. Framjen Sons and Company, Bom. bay. The Mausuri is a veraci of 3,227 tone, and was built in 1894. The Badrie is a vessel.of 2,252 tone, and was built in 1882. Tue Islamia is 2,545 tons, and was built in 1887. Messre, Tarner
Morrison und Company have been the Bombay Agents of thesÛ vesanta. It is believed that owing to the high freights these vessela have been sold for fairly high prices, with the object of replacing them at an early date with now ezen. It is also believed that the Samatra of 7,484 tome, Ane vessel belonging to Messrs. Tar ner Morrison and Company, has been sold.
