Floating Mine Sighted. The floating mine which was reported to have been sighted in the track of shipping between the Promontory and Shaweishan was about 18 inches in diameter with a domed top standing six or eight

passed within about seventy-five yarda of it and was enabled to BOO that it was painted a buff colour and drifting freely. No further reports of its having been sighted have been received since that time.
