This morning in original juriediation, the Chief Justice, Mr. Justice Gompertz, bail bofore him an application for the trane." fer of the Morrison Library from the City Hall Library to the Hongkong University. It will be remembered that the proposed transfor was mentioned in these column's as far back us February [" 20 last.
The application was made by the Attorney General, the Hon. Mr. J. H. Kemp, who was instructed by the Orown Solicitor, Mr. P. M. Hodgson.
Mr. Kemp said that this was a formal application in the matter of a charity known as the Morri- | Bon Library Obarity, for a final | order to empower the coumatico of the City Hall, in whose charge it at present is, to hand it over, under certain conditions, to the University of Hongkong. The "petition was presented by the Attorney Generul and was loca on March 23. The Court then made an order which he wùula now ask his Lordship to muko final.
