This morning at the Victoria Gaol, Mr. J. R. Wood held an enquiry into the circumstances attending the death of Lai Chik- san who died suddenly yesterday.

Chief Warder E. J. Pierpoint said that the deceased was aged forty-eight years, was a native of Mnene, and was received into gnol on March 18, 1914 under a sentence of live years' hard labour on a conviction, for forgery.
