Liverpool, April 29.-A fairly brisk demind was reported by holders of spot cotton, consumers still being in the market to cover soles of yarns and to replenish stcoks. A fair turnover resulted in American at steady prices. Middling 7.35d. Brazilian ruled steady, with a good demand, and Egyptian met a batter inquiry at unchanged rates. Sarats were quiet bat lady. Fatares have continued rather inactive, pend- ing new crop developments, but support has been suflicient to sbsorb the moderate offeringe, ind the undertone remained steady. At the opening prices were 1 to 2 points lower on parity "with Amerios, and remained steady at about this level during the fores con, owing to support from leading houses and fair Continental buying for new crop positions. Early in the after- noon local liquidation caused a slight decline, but prices harden- ed later under some American. buying and fair trade calling, the dose being steady, unchanged to 1.1-2 points lower on the day. Egyptian fatures opened puinte lower on easier cables aad Continental Golling, later 'but became steadier and closed unchanged to 2 points dwa.
