Alone in Channel.. The small steam tug Naän, whose skipper, Captain Kite, had been alone in ber in the Channel for four days, was found near Guerarey and taken to Falmouth. The tog loft Falmouth on a voyage to Patagonia (South and America) with a crew of five men and Captain Kite. Next day the five men were discover in the ug's lifeboat off the Lizard by the liner China, which to k them to Plymouth. They asid the tug had met with heavy weather and Captain Kite had directed them to faunch the lifeboat and tow it astern so that the fug should re- cover more quickly when rolling. During this operation, they said, the rope parted and the lifeboat, in which were all but Captain Kite, became separated from the tag, leaving the captain alone on board.sented gu
Captain Kite, on his arrival at Falmouth, said that after the life bout drifted away he tried to return to Falmouth, but the engines stopped, Three vessela passed close by in the next two days without answering his signals of distress.
