Ilia Excellency the Governor of Singapore in his annual Budget Address to the Legislative Cou uil stated that it was likely that the balanos at the end of the year would amount to $12,000,000." The rubber export from the Colony for 1913 was likely to be over 9,000,000lbs, and trade continued to show a satiefactory expansion.
Opium Revenue.
Ilis Excellency emphasised the prec*riousness of the apium revenue and reiterated that that Government was it-jaslified in the drastic suppression of opium smoking until proper measures had been taken in those countries where iuarplin and cocaine were manufactored. A Co fident" Outlook.
Is Excellency looked forward with confidence to the overcoming of the opium revenue difficultios and Singapore' eplering on a further period of prosperity and success.
