Shanghai, July 25 The bommander of the naval forces at Shanghai has ordered the officers in charge of the Woosung forts to surrender, otherwise they will be attacked.

The inhabitants of the south part of Shanghai City have requested Tutah Chan Chi-mei to leave the city in order to save life and property. Chan has replied that he would rather that the whole place be burned down than he would leave. The inhabitanta have therefore removed from their houses and thousands are new in the fields and waste places.

On the night of the 24th inst. at nine o'clock the Southern troops again attacked the arsenal until daylight.

The ornisers are still assisting the Northern troops, The warships belonging to the foreign Powers have removed out of the fighting zone.
