The eighty-sinth report of the Court of 'Directors, to the ordinary balf-yearly gentral meeting of sharabolders to be held at the City Hall, Hongkong, on Saturday, the 19th init, at novo, in as follows:

Gentlemen,-The directors have now to sub.. mit to you a general statement of the affaits of the Bank, and balsace stoet for the ball-year ending 31st December, 1999).
The .net profits for that period, including $2,001,819,19, balance brought forward from Jast account, after paying all charges, deducing Interest paid and due, and making provision for bad and doubiful accruate amouni to

The directori recommend the transfer of $150,000 from the prefit and loss account to credit of the silver reserve fund, which fündwill then stand at $15,500,000..
After maklog this transfer and deducting remuneration 1 directors there remains for appropriation $2,041,911,43, out of which the directors recommend the payment of a divideod of two pounds sterling per shue, viz.: £240,000 and a bonus of five shillings sterling per share, vit. $10,000, amounting in all to La74,opo which at 1/91, the rate of the day, will absorb $3,013,953.49
The balance $1,028,997.04 to be carried" ta now profit and loss account.
