A Tokyo dispatch states that the proposed capital ei the Japan-Chinn syndicate, in which so much of the fionncial magnates of Japan are interested, is only ¥1,000,000. This has excit- ed a great deal of talk among the promoters. At the latest meeting several of those present dealt with the point, Baron Shibusawa, Mr. Kendo (of the Nippon Yusen Kaisba), and Mr. Hayakawa (of the Mitsuj Baok) putting a num; ber of questions. Mr Ma'sukata (of the Kawasaki'Dockyørt. Kobe) also put a question to Ma quís Katsura the Premier. Mr. Mat sukata said that there was an essential matter 1b; ring on the success of the operations of the syndicste after its formation. On what basis, he asked, had the capital of the syndicate been proposed at Y1,020,200.
