THE WEATHER. ·

The following report is from Mr. F. G. Figg Director of the Hongkong Observatory :--

On the 8th at 12.10 p.-The depression noticed yesterday over E. Manchuria is moving into the Pacific to the N.E. of Japan.

The barometer has rises over the Sea of

Japan, and falled quickly over, the E. and N.E. coast of China.

A new depression has appeared over the

·Yangtze Valley. · It is moving Northwards and approaching the neighbourhood of Shanghai.

The highest pressure is shown over the N. part of the China Sea and the Pacific to the Eastward of Luzon,

Btrong S.W. winds may be expected in the Formosa Channel and moderate to fresh S. and S.W. winds along the northern shares of the China Sea,
