REGISTRATION OF FIRMS.
Before the members of the City of London Tradesmen's Club recently Mr. Walter Baan explained the provisions of the Registration of Firms Bill. The principal object of the pro posed meastire is to compel every person carry- ing on business in another name than his own, whether as sole parters or man' partner, "to" register his own name a d'that of his firm in -the same way as sharchulders in a joint-stock company. The class of traders, remarked Mr. Bai, who were the greatest sufferere at | the present tim*,, were the shop-keeping class and small holders.
