THE WEATHER.
The following report is from Mr. F. G. Figg. Director of the Hongkong Observatory —
On the 23rd at 11.50 a. The barometer has
fallen over China owing to the advance East warde, of a depression along the Yangtze Valley.
-Pressure has decreased also over E. Japan and the Philippines. The fall over the latter area, appears to be due to the existence of a depression to the Eastward of the S. part of the Archipelago.
The highest pressure is over the Sea, of Japan.
Moderate E. winds may be expected in the
Formosa Channel, and moderate to fresh mon. Hoon over the N. part of the China Sea..
