The case for the prosecution was that plaintiff and defendant were partners together with two others, in a firm called the Hop Sing. In November, 1907, the other two partners of the firm sued the plaintiff and defendant in this action for the taking of partoership accounts. A18th Sept, Gen.-P. & O. S. N. Co. receiver was appointed, accounts wara laken, and it was ultimately agreed that plaintiff and defen dant were jointly indebted to the other two part- ners in the sum of $441.80. Besides that the plaintiff claimed that he paid out a sum of $88.36

-CATS FOR SALE..
A "PLAGUE PREVENTER" IN TROUBLE. For trying to supply the public's wants, and to please the Sanitary Department at the same time, s hawker named itung Fong received the heavy head of the law in the Police Court, to-day. Hung had probabis beard something about the rat-catching cats at the last meeting of the Sanitary Board, and, being one of those individuals who always have an eye to business, he proceeded to supply the apcemary article. With a dozin members of
• the folina, tribe in a' basket, all of which were specially bred to stay rats, Hung started out yesterday to corner the market,, But be was bampered in many ways. Firstly, none of
the elite of Hungbam believed that it was pos- sible to fad any rat-catching cats in the Colony, simply because they doubted whether the cats would be at home when their services were 'needed. The second objection was raised by the police, because Hung possessed no licence for his alleged wrongfal tråde.. Consequently, Hung war charged, in the Police Court, with hawking ane licence, and was fined $1.2
