A VERY interesting matter is stated to be ar the moment receiving the attention of the pulice. A few weeks ago a foreigner purchased a motorcar, but, it seems, neglected ib procure the necessary licepse. He ran the car for some time when he had the misfortune to run into a native policeman who took the number of the car and reported the matter to the station. On investigation being made it was found that the car was unlicensed, and pro- ceedings are now being taken against the owner. THE skeletons of seventeen persons were, dis covered on the 24th ult, at Nagasakl in the ground at Hokaura-machi on which the new Kencho is to be built.
