Those person's remain young longest whose » munds are active and glowing; whose idents ärw young and fresh; whose ambitious grow larger instead of diminishing with the years.
Old age, decrepitudę and blight are pictured in the mind before they manifest in the body, The fires of life dis out because the fires of the mind are dead,
It is the panpla whose thoughts prow gray, whose aspirations sink to ashes, that socpest and themselves old, helpless and fortera.
Every abandoned ideal is a torch, left 10 flicker out in darkness. Every fortakes in- terest is a firo left to extinguishment, What wonder the {body fails when the mind no longer warm and illuminerit ?
Lastly, it goes without saying that to achieve success in life we must maintain an energy of of purpose that will blazejhe way through all. obstacles.
Samuel V. Cale, president of Wheaton Seminary, in that splendid little book of his, "The Life That Counts," anye something so convincing about the necessity for this fire of enthusiasm that I must quote him bere.

BUSIEST PEOPLE THE HAPPIEST.
*Keep your thoughts on fire? Somewhere I have seen this expression and
It has remained in my mind do a sort of beacon ever since.
In there five words, I am convinced, there is condensed enough truth and magic to transform existence for any one that reads, understands, and obeys. I believe they point the way to happiness, to health, to longevity, and success in this life.
*Keep your thoughts on fire.'
We are all brought to see, some time in our experiences, that the happiest, most keenly beautiful life is the one that is kindled by intense purposes and high aims. We are shown, as well that an existence which coulaine no kladling incentiva can never know real hap- plaess, no matter how crowded it may be with purely material delights, luxuries and pleasures
If we should be required to point out thore periods in our own lives that held the greatest happiness, the most vigorous satisfaction, 1 believe we would immediately recall the times' of stress and earnestness that wakened into glowing activity our highest thought and will and effor.
It is in our momeals and hours of zeal, when
necessity or incentive rouses the interior being to dominate the physical, that we come into the possessio, frenaine happiness.
No man can say he has reached happiness who has not realized this wakening of the in- terior, luminous self in those, regione where all energy is born.
It is the busiest people in this world who are the happiest. They live at a higher rate of 'vibration than others and are able to capture an enjoyment impossible to those who think and work with the slower vibration,
Herein lies also secret of health. All of us would be much healthier than we are if wa could learn to forget our bodies. I do not mean that we should neglect them. By all means, we should give careful attention to the life essentials-fresh air, water, food, sleep-for without these things our physical abitation could not be sustained and renewed. But while giving jull heed to these essentials, wo should keep our minds an Are with purposes and ideals that lift the consciousness out of the body,
I believe longevity would be greatly in crossed could we learn to keep our minds thus illumined.
