change when I began to take Dr. Williams Pink Fills. I had heard them praised, and am glad that tried them, for they cured me, and there are no traces of my ailments, now in fact, I can do harder work than before."
Mrs. Etta Lavarette, of Elswick, Newcastle, states: "I have consulted many doctors, who diagnosed my case 'as anæmia and serYOUS debility. Medicine seemed to be useless for my case. Fainting fits snized me frequently; severe headaches prostrated me, and I could not bear the slightest noise. Then 1 took Dr. Williams' Pink Pills, and a gradual change came over me. I could take exercise without, fatigue; beadaches and dizziness ceased. Now. I feel quite strong, and have po anxieties about myhealth."

State and merely the Consort is very great, and the privileges of both positions are very clearly defined. In this respect Queen Alexandra comes off better than any previous Consort, but she is nevertheless barred from many of the rights which the King is able to claim. By the laws of the Constitution the Queen Consort is virtually the King's subject, and not b ́s equal. As is well known, it is impossible for anyone to bring a legal action against the King; but as the Queen Consort is recognised as a "public person," any action brought against her by the humblest ubject of the land would have to be tried in the civil courts, and she would be compelled to abide by the verdict But the Queen Consort may also bring an action Kainat anyone, and her position entitles her to deal in any business, or open a shop, if sha
chooses, and transact business with customers in the ordinary way, the only stipulation being that against her signature on any document must be added the words, "Queen of England." ( One of the most curious points about Queen Alexandra's position is that who is not recognised in law as a married woman. A law was passed in Georgian times to this effect, because it was found that the King had a many affairs of his own to attend to that he
could not be troubled with those of his wife, Accordingly to-day the Queen is the only wo man in the cou try who is not amenable to the "Married Woman's Property Act," and what ever debts she might incur she alone would be responsible for them, and creditors would have no claim whatever upon the King. This law stemis ambiguous when it is remembered that the King connot be sued in a court of law, but so it remains Queen Alexandra is therefore represented in the Courts by her own Attorney- General and Solicitor-General. This, however, has not always been the case. In former times the Queen Conson's debis were the King's and no one could legally recover them, but then | fianncial affairs were managed differently. Her husband was paid so much a year by the Stater and he allowed her whatever she liked to spend. As often as not be allowed her nothing at all, with the resuls that the Consort was compelled to contract debts which could not be recovered, and so became unpopular, William' I', however, altered all that. He allowed bip
