The Recent Native Rising in Natal, The Natal Ministry duly confirmed the death sentences passed on the natives who murdered the police in the execution of their duty, and the executions were fixed for Friday.

Mr. Winston Churchill, however, sent a telegram to the Natal Government suspend. ing the sentence, pending the consideration of the Imperial Government.

Mr. C. J. Smythe, the Premier, refused to postpone the sentence, and the Governor under letters patent, postponed the execution.

The Ministry thereupon resigned. There is the most intense indignation in Natal at Imperial interference at such a critical juncture.
