Amid lendid ceremony the child, has been christened "Glory"; and bath Glory and his mother (a nurse) receive lowly homage daily down at the Abode. For according to them, is Divinity. The Glory, fact that Piggott himself has been a failure as mystic may account, for this new line of business in spoof holiness, Readers well re- member how, on the evening of Sunday, Sept. 8, 1973, th the Ark of the Covenant at Clapton be announced himself as the. Messiah." celebrate the occasion, the Ark was crowded. Piggott, a'dark. thin-featured young man, with something of the resthetic in his pose, climbed the throne in the Ark, and said in a musica! confident voice:--

It is appointed unto man once to die-and after this, the Judgment. Christ suffered for sin, and it was promised that for them who waited for Him, He would appear a second time with salvation to man fram death and Judgment.

RECEIVED THE "DIRECT CALL," and that nothing would make her turn back. About this time a young artist of some repute painted her portrait. It was a clever picture and a splendid likeness. One day it my- steriously disappeared, and a few days later the original followed. Since then Mr. Preece and Her other daughters have had very little of Ruth. She told them that she was quite happy and comfortable at Spaxion. The rest they had to guess. Now that the amazing story of Ruth has come to light it is easy to imagine the feeling of her friends. The Leader" or derstands that a determined effort is to ba made to get her out of the cluiches of the sect Brother Prince was sent before his Lord's of which Piggott is the acknowledged bead. face to prepare this way--to prepare the way What will be the future of the poor child who for the Second Coming of Him who suffered will have to go through an unsympathetic world ticketed as "Glory Piggott" nobody for sin, to prepare the way for the restoration of all things. His testimony was true, i knows, Sister Ruth is determined to remain *And I, who speak la you to-night-1 am with her present friends, and already the that Lord Jesus Christ who died and more Agapemanites are keeping zealous watch and again, and ascended into Heaven! The

ARRANGED A "TRAN: FIGURATION," and several other things to show that there waa'no deception in his amazing claim. But Clapton would have none of him. populace stoned him for his blasphemy, and Piggott fled to the Abode of Love, and there he has been ever since. But now he crmer forward into the limelight once again with an entirely new sensation.. A few days ago the registrar of the Bridgwater district was sent for with a message that he was wanted at the Abode of Love at Spaxton, and this gentleman was present at the extraordinary Christening ceremony of Piggott's Baby It seems that he received a special message to hurry over to the Abode of Love, which is about six miles from town. He drove

over, and was received at the gates of the Abode by Piggott's secretary, Mr. Reed, At the house R Mrs. Reed met him,"Are you the Bridg: water Registrar she said, excitedly"Yes," he replied,

"I am."-"Then," she added dra matically, "you are about to be admitted into the presence of the Almighty!"-This some- what startled the registrar, who, although' a man of peculiar experience in hit line of busi. ness, had never met anything quite so discon- certing before. Follow me," said the lady. The registrar obeyed; and Mrs. Reed led him into the precincts of the chapel, "on, which Brother Prince spent a fortune. Inside the beautiful building were assembled forty persons, Mr. Reed, MI. Piggott, and the registrar were the only men present. The ladies were as

sembled in a silent worshipping. Crowd, with their eyes fixed expectantly upon a lovely couch. Here, in costly, clinging robes lay

Then

A BEAUTIFUL YOUNG WOMAN. At the foot of the couch was a tiny child dressed in snowy white. A silent woman knelt at the foot of the couch holding the baby. The registrar saw that this was evi dently the Divinity" he had been so speedily summoned to record on the official census papera of Somersetshire. Smyth-Piggott came forward and briefly an

of nounced the fact.-"Whn is the father this child?" asked the registraram replied the leader of the Agapemanites-And who is the mother?"-Piggott pointed to the beautiful woman lying on the couch. "This is she, he said."Her name?" Ruth Preece." "Her occupation?"She is a indy," re- plied the reverend gentleman; with much dignity-This was not quite sufficient for the official gentleman from Bridgwater, Hewani ed more facts, and eventually Piggott admitted that she was or had been-a nurse. She was entered eventually as a lady of independent means. The child was entered in the name of "Glory." The ceremony being over Mr. Pig gott announced that a triumphant charal ser. vice would be held to celebrate this wonderful occasion. He invited the registrat to stop and see it all through. This he did, and he told representative of the "Morning Leader," which tele

this amazing tale, that he was much im- pressed by the beautiful singing and the won derful strains of the organ. The correspondent understand that the real and legal Mrs. Smyth. Piggott was present-or, at least, in the near vicinity of the chapel-during the official glori- fication of Glory Piggott, "Glory" Piggott is hardly a name to conjure with, hut no doubt it will be all right. Faith gets over a heap of things-including the sense of humour. The mother of "Glory". Miss Ruth Preece, be- lieves herself to be Piggott's divinely-appointed Spiritual Bude.. As such she has been re ceived by all the "disciples" at Spaxton.

5151ER RUTH'S STORY.

HOW SHE THREW IN HER LOT WITH

THE AGAPEMONITES.

"Sister Ruth" (Miss Ruth Preece) has been living for over a year at the Abode-indeed, since the Ark of the Covenant at Clapton closed last summer, Piggott and "Sister Ruth have been at Spaxton. On July 6th, 1994, Piggott was last seen in public at Spax ton. He drove out of the gates of Love's Abode in a four-wheeler. With him was Sister Ruth," and on the roof of the vehicle was a stack of luggage. They went to a farm situated at Chilton Trivet, a few miles away. This farm in owned by the Agapemonites; and bere Piggott and Sister Ruth stayed for their autumn holiday. In Spaxton
