THE SCENE.
Captain C. Jones, master of ss. Sheikh, has arrived in Tientsin after a most interesting and occasionally exhilarning experience, says the Chin Times.
Presently some living survivors were found wo unhappy Russian sailors, sitting on a small piece of wreckage. They had almost
given up hupe of life. "The Japanese warships had packed up every survivor they could finds but these men had apparently got out of the way, They were in the last stage of starvation, One of them was so terribly weak that, when brought on deck, he had to be supported. 1456 fat as could be gathered from these poor inou, they were the survivors of some six sailors who had found refuge on a piece of wreckage. The other four had dropped off exhausted, or been washed away. They ap peared to have belonged to the Nuvarin.
The Sheikh, having tumanely looked around in vain for any further survivors, proceeded op her voyage, and was soon afterwards lined by a Japanese warship. The Sheikh hove to, and was requested to proceed in company of the warship to the naval port of Sascho. This order was, of course, comp ied 'with, and the Sheikh duly arrived in Sascho the next morning Whố 29th, after having heard heavy firing to the
southward.

Ataseho, Captain Jones was hindfulded as a precaution, but was well treated, and was allowed to leave again with ship, crew, and cargo intact, on Wednesday, the 31st.
