Inspector Collett, investigated the matter, and as far as could be learned from the prisoner and from bystanders, the prisoner suddenly began a quarrel with a street coolie, the cause of which could not be ascertained, though the prisoner said it was about thecoulie's knocking him. However that may be, the quarrel waxed furious, and in the end Ho Yau Sang seized a bamboo pole and repeatedly butted the man in various parts of his body until the latter fell down unconscious. The detective then arrested to Yau Sang, and sent the injured coolie to the hospital, where be. died shortly after adinission.
