Mr. Bailey said Mr. Mumford, ladies and: gentlemen, on behalf of my partner and myself I sincerely thank you for the kind manner in which you have proposed and responded to the hand we decided to turn out a thoroughly first Toast of our health. On taking this work in class job regardless of cost, hoping for our reward in the satisfaction we should give the owners and that the good work put into the vessel would prove an advertisement for our firm. In this we have not been disappointed, the owners having expressed their entire satisfaction with the work. To insure success in a work of this nature it is essential that the owners should have clear ideas as to what they require. In this case Mr. Chau Stu Ki came to us with a rough plan ofthe general arrangements of the vessel prepared by himself, his captain and superintendent; he had the clearest iden of the company's requirements so that we had jure trouble in completing the design,; and throughout the whole wor the gentlemen
referred to have ben of the greatest assistance to us. I also take this opportunity fexpress ing out appreciation of the services renile ed us by our staff, especially the drawing office s for the way they performed their work. Our relions with the owners have continued to be if the friendliest nature and the work has proceeded with the utmost smoåtångsz, not a hitch occurring in the construction. I wish to that we desire an better people to deal wrh than the directors of th⋆ Shia On S. S. Co. (applause), who have rendered us evely assistaner, both financially and otherwise.
