POLLOCK, K.G., our late Acting Attorney General, who left Hongkong on the 13th December last to take up the Attorney Generalship of the Fiji Islands, is resigning bis new post and intends returning to England to be married, after which it is most probable that he will come out to Hongkong again, and take up an important appointment in the Colony.

ATTEMPT TO WRECK A TRAIN-Wo hear that an attempt has been made to wreck a train, between Poking and Tiensin, says the N. C. Daily News. One of the lenders. was arrested and will be beheaded. NATIVE SAILING BOAT RUN DOWN:- According to the Shanghai Timis, on the 26th. February last the steamship Loongmoon, when just across the Woosung Bar, unfortunately can down a native sailing boat. DISTRIBUTION OF PRIZES AT THE BELILIOS PUBLIC SCHOOL
The distribution of prizes at the above school took place this morning.. There where present; The HonourableJ. H. Stewart Lockhart, C.MG, and Mrs. Lockhart, Mr. Irving the Inspector of Schools and the mothers and sisters of the Pupils.
The proceedings opened with a part song entitled "Spring" which was very ably rendered by the young ladies. This was followed by a musical Drill and Indian Club swinging. The performance elicited a storm of the applause and showed perfect training, which each individual had undergone. It may be men- tioned that the march was specially com posed for the occasion by Mr. A. G. Ward. Five little maids then made their appearance, each armed with a doll, and sang in great unison "Dolly's Lullaby," which was wannly appreciated,
