Statistics of the imports since 1897 show a steady in- crease, and this brand may now be regarded as one of the most popular Borneo cigars on the market. On more than one occasion Borneo tobacco has fetched the highest price of any at

A LONDON DAILY states as follows: We have often enough been told that we might learn a lesson or two from Chinese civilisation The Belgian Government, however, is the first in Europe to take a real tip from China. The nickel coins shortly to be put into circulation in Belgium will have little holes pierced in them, like the small Chinese coin. The object is, of course, to enable the coins to be strung together, which is naturally much more con- venient for business purposes.
