Obosetares,
Letters have now been received from them by the Deutsche Wochen Zeitung in den Nieder- landen, a German paper published in Holland which, without exception, breathes a spirit of contentment. Most of them have bought land and are zealously devoting themselves to its cultivation. They "cannot find praise coough" for the amiability of the German governor and his officials. With the solution of the school ques-vson, British str., for Manila. tion, which provides for German being the pre- dominant language in the schools of the colony, but at the same time sanctions the teaching of the Dutch language for a certain number of bours per week, they are entirely satisfied...The climate, they say, is very well suited to them, and some Boers have devoted themselves, with success to sheep-raising. The Francfurter
a number of exiled Boers living at Amsterdam fug states that in consequence of this news have resolved to emigrate to German, South Africa, leaving Hamburg by steamer sailing on September 20, also that a party of zoo Cape colonists will join them from Capetown next December.
