A CURIOUS story is published in the Japanese vernacular papers to the effect that a Budðklat priest named Kumone Tentaro, disguised as a
Japanese, has been arrested in Kote on charge of being implicated in Ri Chu Kaku's recent plot agalost the King of Korea. It is alleged against him that be led Ri Chu Kaku to believe that he could be instrumental in securing two men-of-war to assist in the intended out break-a story which in the opinion of the Robe Chronicle; it in difficult to conceive of even Koreas conspirator accepting and that for this he obtained a large sum of money.

At the Magistracy today the Coroner, Mr. H. E. Wodehouse, opsed an inquest on the body of Li Chlk, coolle, who was killed in Hilller Street on the rath inst.

Inspector Quincey, sworn, vid-At 15 30 p. on the rath fast, shots were fired apparently from house No. 89, Queen's Road West. I made a search, with a party of police, on the first floor, and on the verandah we found an open box with two iron bars, fitted as for fighting, with handles and kasbs. This man was the only one about, so I arrested him. The house is coolle depot, but not organised in the regular WAF. The prisoner said he had come down from Kwangtung to see the dragon procession.

THE "LYRICS" ON "AMATEURS
The London Lyric Company on Saturday night had as usual the pleasant experience- though they must be getting almost tired of the monotony of a crowded hause in the Theatre Royal. The "curtain-lister" way a good way above the average of such pieces; Mr.T. Verner, whose unassuming excellence of style cannot be too much admired, came out for the nonce as a comedian star, and scored a tremendous success. He bad the stage all to himself, and nearly killed the audience with laughter; it is as well that "Chiselled " is a short piece.
