But there are dozens of different opinions in the Colony as to whether the Government is good or not, dozens of different opinions as to how to carry out these matters, and it is la consequence of the exlatence of that feeling that we are here to-day. Now, gentlemen, it is intended at this moeting to propose certain resolutions. The gentlemen who met together purely voluntarily for the purpose of considering whether something could not be done to set the community in motion have embodied their own opinions in these seren resolutions. It may be said that we have come here with the resolutions cut and dried, but it would be quite impossible to carry on the meeting unless we had some definite proposals to put before it. It is open of comme le any gentlemen to move any amendment he thinks it. The first resolution, which I beg to move, is as follows:-
