Some excitement was caused in the course of the day by the disappearance of the Irish home rule bill. In the morning Gladstong missed a portfollo containing the bill, as well as drafts of other measures. After a long and exclling search it was found fa Gladstone's private room. It is stil a mystery how the portfolio got there.'
Keir Hardie, a labor member, moved an amendment expessing-regret that the address had not mentioned the widespread misery among the workingmen of Great Britain.
