By the way, "Court of Directors" can hardy be said to be a modest title for the nominal directors of even a comparatively important colonial bank to assume; it reminds one so forcibly of that Imperial $1.00 autocracy the old East India Company; but then, Hongkong is noted for its own kind of peculiar modesty, and the Hongkong and Shanghai Bank is, the Mecca of the classes.
